Tani and Bill Austin Honored at Elton John's Benefit

At the seventh annual Elton John AIDS Foundation’s An Enduring Vision benefit held in New York City, Bill and Tani Austin were recognized as honorees by Sir Elton John and received an award for their outstanding philanthropic efforts around the world.

As founders of the Starkey Hearing Foundation, they are dedicated to giving the Gift of Hearing to the world. “They’re two of the greatest philanthropists I’ve ever met,” Sir Elton John said of the Austin’s and their Foundation.

William F. Austin Meets Nelson Mandela

Starkey’s founder and CEO William F. Austin, had the privilege to meet Nobel Peace Prize winner and former South African President Nelson Mandela and his wife Graca Machel Mandela during the Starkey Hearing Foundation’s most recent mission trip to Nelspruit, South Africa. Mr. Austin will be fitting Mr. Mandela with hearing aids in the future.

The missions in Africa were a success! Volunteers and Foundation staff fit over 10,000 hearing instruments during the month of October as they traveled through Egypt, Malawi, Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique and South Africa. Starkey Hearing Foundation delivers more than 50,000 hearing instruments annually through hearing missions in 86 countries.

Starkey Hearing Foundation Returns to Malawi

Starkey Hearing Foundation returned to Malawi to conduct a hearing mission where they fit children and adults with nearly 3,000 much-needed hearing instruments. The hearing mission in Malawi ran October 14-18.
